You have to own 5 bit sets so you can have at least one non-broken 1/16" bit
I gotta imagine everyone on slickdeals owns atleast 5 bit sets at this point

Not here to defend Ryobi, but from your image the broken bit is one of the brad-point drill bits. Brad point drill bits are meant for wood/soft materials AFAIK. From the geometry of the bit one can tell brad points will not drill into metal efficiently.
I have this kit and a phillips bit broke when I tried to put a wood screw through MDF into a 2x4 on a workbench (was securing the backing strip where I keep a long power strip). Like, the entire phillips portion just broke off, leaving the stem.

There's no way to sugar coat that this kit is trash. I still use it but when I do, I plan for it to break on me. Luckily none of my projects are high risk or super important, just standard household stuff. But yeah, it's trash.

Even Ryobi fans know their bits aren't good. Just invest in a DeWalt or Milwaukee bit set, you won't be disappointed.
BINGO. Their tools are great for the average homeowner / DIYer, but everyone knows you should get DeWalt or better bits. I learned my lesson quick, at least I didn't lose much money.

Yes!! They seem like a great deal, but all of these sets are filled with bits that I'll never use. 90% of the time I use P2 bits, other times I use square and small star bits for more specialized screws. Does anyone ever use the straight bits, P1 or P3's?? Those will all end up at my estate sale.
No joke, I use P1 bits quite often, but in a screwdriver, so no impact quality needed. Many household electronics use P1 small screws. Hell, I used it yesterday to take apart my Roomba to clean the bumper out since the sensor was covered in dust and it was ramming the walls. I use P3 less often, this time with torque. 3" or 3.5" #10 exterior screws for wood projects mostly.

Anyone have a set of bits that would last? Looking to buy some as a new home owner.
.
Without breaking the bank, this set of split point 1/16" to 1/2" DeWalt drill bits [amazon.com] are decent drill bits and were on sale for $10. But, if you are using drill bits in an impact only, there are other options. There are better, a lot better, but the Ryobi, Hitachi, etc., have been junk by comparison.

For impact driver bits, made in USA Apex are the best, but box store Milwaukee, Makita, DeWalt, Bosch and in that order are the better. This Milwaukee set [homedepot.com] is decent, but was on sale for $18. This 74 Milwaukee Piece [homedepot.com] delivered for $20 is not bad and neither is this Milwaukee 72 pc set [homedepot.com] for $20.

Only you know what you want/need. If you don't have to have right now, create a notice and be patient for a deal.

PS: Do a search on here, as there are other deals from Northern, etc.
