I have and own the red tube bird feeder. I have a south facing front and the red went discolored after one full year of full direct sun. The plastic holes do discolour a but not terribly! The inside bottom is a bit difficult to clean, but if you clean it regularly (like I did the first year but not the second...) It's easier. Smilie

I'd stay away from those plastic tube feeders. The food tends to get wet and moldy and they are ready hard to clean.

Not to mention the squirrels will just chew around the top of the plastic and drop the feeder to the ground where they proceed to stuff their fat little cheeks full.
