What's the concern? I got the 3/8" recently and it's busted all the lug nuts I tried it on. It's been reviewed in YT tests and breaks nuts all the way up to 450ft-lbs. There are no fasteners on typical cars requiring anywhere near that much torque. Lots of serious DIYers and actual pros swear by it for day to day work.



If you don't do much auto work then an impact wrench is probably unnecessary for you. Although if you rotate your tires regularly on several cars it beats using lug wrenches, and might be nice to throw in the trunk for a flat tire change. And each size has identical power output. Which one you get is mostly a matter of what impact socket set you have or get and how you intend to use it. I got the 3/8" as 3/8" sockets are a bit smaller than 1/2" ones and fit into tighter spaces.



Only one is an impact driver. The other is an impact wrench, with a much higher torque rating for tougher fasteners such as are found on cars. If you only get one power tool for auto work, it should probably be an impact wrench, and many swear by the 3/8" M12 for being both powerful and versatile. It'll handle 80-90% of auto fasteners, and possibly even all of them on smaller cars. Drills and drivers are more for home, construction and wood work. So this is a nice all-around set. Lots of serious auto DIYers like to also get a power ratchet, but in addition to and not instead of an impact wrench.

The impact wrench itself is normally $179 so you're basically getting the drill, driver, batteries, charger & case for $100, which is a deal. I already have the wrench, 3 & 6Ah batteries, charger & case from a different deal and this isn't hackable, so I have to pass. Eventually they'll hopefully run their hackable deal on the drill and driver for around $100 after the hack. Also on some of their other M12 tools. I can wait but perhaps this indicates that another round of deals is coming. Or new tools are coming out soon?

If clearance isn't a major issue then might as well get the 1/2" and save on buying new socket sets. But deep 1/2" sockets aren't going to fit everywhere and you'll have to decide what works best for you. A compromise could be to get the 1/2" plus a 1/2" shallow impact socket set, which are not that much deeper than their 3/8" versions. But the most compact of all would be a 3/8" wrench with 3/8" shallow sockets. And make sure you get/use ONLY impact sockets, which are almost always 6 point.

Yeah, I tried to return the extra batteries / charger with the m12 multitool deal a while back, and they couldn't do it. Someone in that thread claimed they did, so YMMV of course. I didn't try pressing them because I'm not a jerk and I'll probably just sell the extras instead.

If you meant that you didn't want to be a "Karen" then I understand. I only do that when I'm actually being jerked around, like when a store refuses to honor an advertised deal and we're talking more than a couple of bucks. Of course, if they do the opposite and offer a deal that's technically not official, if asked, then who am I to refuse...

This is not hackable. Pretty straightforward, cart and receipt will show 1 purchase line. Hackable deals will show 2 line items with prorated price for the main kit and "free" item.

I have 1/2" standard deep, 1/2" metric deep, 1/2" metric shallow, and 3/8" standard deep impact sockets. So, certainly have more 1/2 than 3/8; however, you made a good point. I already have a 1/2" high-torque pneumatic impact wrench. Looking for an electric one to have on hand as well so I don't always have to rely on my air tools. I am a guy with a lot of tools, and I am on Slickdeals daily. Odds are I will own both the 3/8 and the 1/2 one day. laugh out loud

I need some advice fellow SD'ers. I bought the 3/8" stubby with 2.0 and 4.0 batteries when the last $190 came around last month. With this current deal, I'd be paying $90 more to get an M12 Fuel drill and impact driver in addition to the impact wrench. Seems like a good value, but I already have a Kobalt 24V drill and impact driver that are still brand new, unused after purchasing them 2 years ago. I definitely don't need two drills and two impact drivers, but what would you do in my situation - stick with the Kobalt 24V or go with these M12 Fuels? I just don't think the Kobalts have high resale values considering they're cheap to begin with.

The 3/8" stubby impact wrench is my favoritest tool of all time. This sucker packs so much power in a tiny package. I've offered to rotate tires for my family just to get a chance to use the tool.

Don't overhype this; the kit is pro rated around $150 and the impact wrench even though give same torque as 1/2" it goes on sale so often that this is more valid to those who want a new starter platform

They are probably confusing the M12 with the M12 Fuel version. Honestly Milwaukee could have done a better job at making them distinct.

This deal is pretty good if you need the homeowner/light construction tools AND a tire change/medium torque compact impact. If you only need one or the other, you can certainly make a good deal "now" but a hackable deal or just outright sale you can probably get any of these items for around what your final price would be breaking it and messing around selling the parts you don't need online. And as others have said, definitely not hackable. Just my opinion so it's worth what you paid for it.
