I'm big on physical media too, but $5 for 4K digital is about as good a deal as digital will get, especially for films that 1) won't get as watched as often, and 2) aren't worth the disc upgrade over the blu-ray.
Solid list, OP.

MANY titles in HD sets will redeem 4K, but ONLY via iTunes, and lots more will not (at least, not yet).

Maybe there are people who think $5 br physical disks is either more worth it or somehow better than digital 4k? If so, care to explain?

First off, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 sucked and is the reason Sony pulled the plug on another one. Second, this sale is on movies that are having 10, 15, 25 year anniversaries. Neither of those movies are having anniversaries, so of course they're not part of this sale.
