It's pretty lame of them to make you buy all this extra stuff including a $180 controller, but I guess it's a good business move on their part
At least it isn't 3 trash games like other times lol... but I agree, hate that you're forced into these bundles... and the controller has been going for $140 pretty regularly the past few months to boot. GameStop has been literally trying to find the worst deals possible to bundle in...

I disagree. It actually helps keep the scalpers away, and they actually will take the non-digital items back as returns (just don't bring their attention to it being a bundle, walk into the store with the item and the packing slip and say you're returning, they will process the return).
I got one of the bundles back in December. Unfortunately I was forced into also buying two games that I don't really play (Battlefield and NBA 2K), but it was still worth it considering how hard these are to find.
This is a terrible deal. They're forcing you to buy a bunch of overpriced stuff to make the sale. You can def get them on drops... but you have to basically just be in front of a computer when the drops happen.
Even the market rate if you buy from resellers/StockX is a lower premium than this. It's currently ~$580? Which is only $30 over MSRP+tax.
Not great, but far from horrible. I think the only saving grace in this situation is that:
1. You're buying from a retailer so you have a receipt in case you need to return or file warranty claim. (Facebook marketplace is full of scammers acting as budget-friendly scalpers)
2. Pros earn 15000 points which is the equivalent of $15.
3. You maybe able to resell the controller (unopened) for some type of cash value. (I bought the PS5 digital bundle from GameStop so I'm still considering selling the 2nd controller to gain some money back because I don't need it)
5. Costco and BestBuy leans heavily towards providing stock for members so least GS membership is the cheapest.

Console $500, elite controller $120, XGPU 3 month $15, GS GC $50, add up to $685. Hmmmmm….not a deal to me. Wait a week or two I am pretty sure Series X will be available everywhere.

Just return the controller to the store. That's what I did with the bundle I received a couple weeks ago. obviously, you cannot return the digital goods like the gift cards.

even though on the website it says all items in combo must be returned, they let you return just the controller? Does the policy mean just opened items cant be returned? Because most retailers that sell combo items require all items to be returned. Still this is a really bad bundle unless the gift card and game pass in addition to controller be returned.

I returned in an unpened controller and docking station for charging. No questions asked. Just included the receipt that came in the box.
