Reasons: More than double the storage and a gasket to keep out dust/moisture. Purchased for $13 in store, I keep it bungee corded in the bed of my truck and use it to stow misc items.
The Plano will have thicker walls for more durability, but I'm not tossing this item around. It stays put. I hope this helps anyone!

Yes.
The lids are lockable and much more durable, and they are stackable. I've had the black and yellow ones bust on me…. been using these Plano ones for years.
I recall looking at their olive green totes a couple of years ago and decided not to buy because they were very flimsy and the interior had a bunch of supports taking up storage space.
I don't know where you're getting any of this. I have several of these and they are far more durable than those plastic storage bins. You could sit or stand on top of them if you wanted to

No interior supports on this one. Imo they are more durable than storage options double the cost

Been waiting for <$8 for months.
The description doesn't mention, so probably no. However I searched through the Question/Answer area and saw three people who used them outside. I don't know how long they owned them though.
So this thing will hold about 2 3/4 cubic feet of stuff.
I find it useful to know I can divide the gallons by 6 1/4 to find cubic feet. It's easier to visualize cubic feet, for me.
Although these look lightweight, with the lid installed and latched I've stood on these and felt very stable. These are sturdy and worth every penny.
