As someone who has pulled 800 in a conventional deadlift, I would never recommend deadlifting with a straight bar unless you're specifically training for a big deadlift. A trap bar is a lot easier on you and you get most of the same benefits. Ymmv.
For those interested in the review, link posted but he pretty much trashes the bar. I think its a decent bar especially for the price and no one else comes close to this affordability.

I have never used one of these open trap bars. Is it similar?

This is a solid bar for the money, and I believe this is the lowest price it's been. Gets a little flexy when you start getting around 400lbs and up, but nothing major. Some of the earlier batches (including mine) had the knurling painted over pretty heavily, but I fixed that just by stripping the paint on the handles.

Its a good cheap trap bar for 500 lbs and under but don't expect to load it with 600 lbs plus. A YouTuber just reviewed it and it started bending around 580 lbs. I recommend it for your average lifters.

Got one thanks. I have a 75lb trap bar I've been using that's been great but a pain in the butt to load and unload. Looking forward to the plate loading stand with this one.

I have this bar. Works as it should but I have only had it in the mid 300 lb range.

The only downside for a normal use case I could see would be that the knurling on the lower handles is pretty damn near non-existent. I put hockey grip tape on mine to fix it. The knurling on the raised handles is a lot better and probably wouldn't need grip tape, though it isn't an aggressive knurl.

I've used a Titan Fitness rackable hex bar, which was much nicer, but the price is also MUCH higher.

Thanks for the video! I'm surprised that a trap bar with long sleeve exist at this extremely low price range. I think if you're lifting less than 500 lbs, this bar would be super awesome. The long sleeve really helps you load more bumper plates. Personally, I own the very nice REP trap bar for $399 but the thing is that I could train for my whole life but might not ever hit 500 lbs.

open trap bars are similar to closed trap bars but open trap bars are more versatile because one side is open for you to perform more kinds of exercises and some of them allows you to prop up the bar so that you can load and unload plates more easily.

yeah knurling is minimal but some chalk can help with the grip. I use this for deadlifts, farmer walks, and shoulder press with the neutral grip

I just got this bar a few days ago, it has some pretty poor QA. One of the welds was off and the bar had a slight bend on the side of the bad weld. I'm assuming both defects are related to the same manufacturing event. I ended up returning it and ordering a new one hoping that it was a one off and the new one will be fine. Other than the defects it does feel like it could be a pretty solid bar, I guess I will find out.
