Bought this at $55 a few years back and it's good value. Had over 500lb on it no problem. Only thing I don't like is the handles. Small diameter maybe 25mm, bad knurling with no center mark so it's hard to grip it perfectly balanced. Most deadlifts in tilting forward. They also have thick powder coat on the handles making them feel slick. Straps are a good idea with this. I ended up upgrading to the giant Northland open trap bar when it was last on sale mainly for better handles.

Great Trap Bar, I have this. Got it at an all time low of $59.99 two years ago.

All metal, strong welds (but kind of sloppy). Decent knurling.

Having the open style with jacks makes it much easier to load and unload plates. Also, since trap bars are big, this style you can push up against a wall for storage, so much smaller footprint compared to closed trap bars.

Highly recommend this.

Great bar for the price and much better than the cheaper fully enclosed CAP hex trap bars. Got mine a little cheaper several years ago but it holds up well, and is also my favorite form factor with being able to stabilize it upright on the flat legs to load it.

Good deal on a decent bar. I own this, it's built well, especially for the price.

What's the advantage to having the open design versus the fully enclosed design?

This is 1/4 the price of BoS, so that's not a fair comparison. I've owned this specific trap bar for a few years now, and never feel the need to upgrade. It does exactly what you want it to do.

It does make it easier to walk with, enabling it to be used for things like farmers carries.

The bells of steel one is not only 4x.the price, but looks identical except possibly shorter collars and is rated 300lbs less at 700lbs

This is probably just fine for almost everyone and I like my normal CAP trap bar, but I seriously question if this can actually handle 1000lb.

Yeah I don't know about 1000lbs but it's pretty solid. The cap (if it's the one I'm thinking of) isn't one solid piece,.it bolts together, giving it concentrated weaker stress points vs one solid piece.

My CAP is a older welded model, I have doubts it would handle 1000lb either.
