Samyang's new 24-70mm F2.8 AF (Sony E Mount) lens is available through their site for $999.99 with a 10% discount code "OFF10" (noted on site's top banner).
Sale also did not include sales tax for me so it was $899.10 with free shipping.
Went with this lens over the Sigma due to not wanting to gamble with the dust issue.
This is a Pre-order, will ship when available. There are very few reviews but this one is quite in-depth:

I have a Sony-mount Rokinon 85mm 1.2 SP manual focus lens (their "professional" line) and it's absolutely amazing. At about the third of the price of the similar Sony/Nikon/Canon lenses.
I also have their 18mm 2.8 and it's very, very good.
I'm tempted, but I really like my Tamron 28-70mm 2.8. This one is about twice the weight, is it worth it for the 4mm on the wide end and parfocal zooming? Don't know, gotta think about it.
BTW OP, nice find. Please mention in your post that it's for preorder only.

I went with this over the Tamron for the extra 4mm and all metal construction. I agree though it is heavy (heavier than the Sigma 24-70 2.8) but I just keep reading about people who are either at the correct serial number or send it in for repair and it still has the dust issue.

Prime lenses have a fixed focal length and cannot zoom in or out. They are usually cheaper, lighter, and more compact than a zoom lens.
Non-prime or zoom lenses have variable focal length so you can zoom in and out. They are more versatile and can be more convenient than bringing multiple prime lenses around.
The Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8 Di III VXD G2 is also $899.99 msrp vs this $999.99 msrp. Tamron is all plastic construction and not as wide at 28mm.
Plenty of Samyang/Rokinon glass has been highly rated.
