Lacking content definitely isn't an issue.

No you didn't. You just came here to bag on Matrix which has zero to do with HBO Max.

Finishing (finally) watching Sopranos- often on lists as the "best show ever made". Still a bunch of stuff on this that looks pretty good.
I found out about the show Warrior last year and binged both seasons, really enjoyed it. Season 3 is in the works too.

Peacemaker just launched today too and the reviews are very positive so far.

The content is great, but the app drives me crazy with its random issues and the severe lack of 4K content.

So if I a am a current subscriber how would I get this deal? Or is this just for new subscribers only? It wasn't made very clear in the post.

The details say:

"New and returning HBO Max customers can subscribe to: 1) the HBO Max Ad Free monthly plan at a discounted rate of $11.99/mo. plus applicable taxes for 12 months OR 2) the HBO Max With Ads monthly plan at a discounted rate of $7.99/mo. plus applicable taxes for 12 months (each an "Offer" and collectively, the "Offers"). Offers are not valid for existing HBO Max subscribers. Offers valid from January 12, 2022 to January 25, 2022."

So presumably you'd have to cancel (effective prior to the 25th) then as a returning customer you could take advantage of this offer.

Just to note for those that have AT&T fiber for ISP that the gigabit plan includes HBO Max for free. I have no idea if this is targeted by area but can confirm that this is offered in the downtown Fort Worth, TX area. I also think this will likely go away once AT&T divests the abominations known as DirecTV and WarnerMedia.
It is going away.

Not sure if it's been mentioned here yet or not but the lack of an app for LG TVs really sucks.

So sick of seeing these offers and signing in to see it jump back up to the normal price. Clearly they have no plans for customer retention. Mad

Nah. Use a firestick or Roku. The video quality is always way better. TV apps always suck even if they do have it. Netflix app on LGTV is horrible.

Can you update your TV? Mine now includes HBO Max. I didn't have it in 2020 but I noticed it pop up in 2021 sometime. Was nice to not have to only watch on our smaller Samsung.

You have to figure that the current deal HBO Max brokered directly with users when the channel was evicted from Amazon videos channel options is 50% off the ad-free price for 6 months. That started around the 3rd week of September 2021 for me. My 50% off deal ceases in March 2022, at which point I'll be canceling the service. I have greatly enjoyed HBO Max, but on general principle, I'll cancel it. I suspect many millions of others who joined during the same deal in September 2021 will do the same.

So what do you think the chances are that a new deal (undoubtedly not 50% off) will arise shortly thereafter?

I think chances are good. Very, VERY good.

So one movie made you cancel. They have really good stuff for a year now and still do. Maybe next time read some reviews before you get a service just for that. Or look what else is on said service.
I hear dune was pretty good
