Lacking content definitely isn't an issue.

No you didn't. You just came here to bag on Matrix which has zero to do with HBO Max.

Y'all still use multiple streaming services? For Android users, just download the APK for Moviebox Pro and just $25 a year for every show that every streaming service offers.
Does it have long download to movie

I think the best way to do it nowadays is to just subscribe when there's something you want to watch, binge, then cancel after a month.

I'm currently finishing up Star Trek Discovery on Paramount then once that's done I'll cancel it for a while until there's something else to watch. Once the prequel for Game of Thrones comes on, I'll probably re-subscribe to HBO Max. I'm not convinced there's enough content on HBO max to make it worthwhile to pay $12 per month.

Subscribing for 3 months a year for HBO max, but spaced out 4 months each time seems the most economical. You could probably even get a free trial thrown in to extend it a little bit if you use a new email address. And I'm also pretty sure they'll give a lot of retention offers as well.

Finishing (finally) watching Sopranos- often on lists as the "best show ever made". Still a bunch of stuff on this that looks pretty good.

Not sure if it's been mentioned here yet or not but the lack of an app for LG TVs really sucks.
It's there. Not sure when they added it. I noticed sometime last year.

I have an LG OLED B8, so I'm sure you don't need a newer TV to see it.

HBO Max is great. Definitely the one streaming service I would subscribe to if I were limited to just one.

Yes it is severely lacking. Had it for years and unless I had an urge to watch an old movie it wasn't worth it. There is sadly more recent and relevant movies on prime
I'd love to know what you consider good content if you think HBO Max is lacking content. It has so many good shows and movies.

Thanks OP for posting it, but IMO this is not such a good deal. The current price for, say, the ad-free yearly subscription is $149.99. A year with the offer (12 months at $11.99) is $143.88. Very little savings.
What's the yearly cost for with ads?

I had this service for a few months and found it lacking content. Yes, there's some recent movies out now but I'll wait until there's a significant backlog of shows/movies I can watch readily. Having to pay a monthly fee to watch something new every 2-3 months wasn't worth it
I agree about content but this is true with all competing platforms. Plus HBO Max had the most awkward/clunky tv app (I failed to see any improvement since GO) and it crashes more than Netflix and Amazon. But it was clutch last year with the movie releases. It was worth it for me not to try to go back to the theater and sit next to randos. Some of the movies released were absolute trash and I'm relieved my wallet and I didn't have to travel and suffer in public.

On the value of this deal? Eh not really slick. I used the amex offer last month to secure slightly lower pricing for the year. If you are on the fence on getting HBO Max, I'd wait until the backlog of movies and shows build up then do a short term subscription.

Wish they sold "free time" too with all these services.
