Pretty sure 94538 has zero stock. Lowe's just switched their Inventory system, and it's a total wreck! If you find it for $24.xx it's super slick. Don't CALL!!
Got it for $34.xx
Great set. The 3/8" ratchet is a little too short, but the 1/4" is perfectly small.
Is this a good car set? I have a full set at home but with a 15yo car I always wonder if I need a tracel case 😂
It should be decent for a set that you keep in the car. However, it lacks a spark plug socket and there is no 1/2" drive option. As someone already said, the 3/8" ratchet is a little smaller than would be ideal, so you'd need that 1/2" ratchet and sockets and the 3/8" drive spark plug socket is a necessity if you're a DIYer.
As I posted in the other thread for the slightly smaller set
I just cut off the zip tie holding mine closed and my right clip is loose. Not a huge problem since the handle is made up of the base and lid if that makes sense. Not like the case will dump open when you're carrying it by the handle but yeah, the case is a tad flimsy. But I like being able to see inside so 🤷🏻
The case lid is not built to last; it will break or shatter. The case clamps are also flimsy and don't hold the case together well at all. I compared 3 cases, 2 had lids that already had a piece broken and all clamps were flimsy. I did pick one up for $35; however, will likely dump the whole kit in a tool bag. This kit is cheap for the very reason the case is crap...IMHO.
I picked up 2 of these yesterday for $24 each to keep as spares as I have a bad habit of breaking ratchets regularly.
The case is hot garbage. The latches were extremely loose and flimsy on all of the sets at the store I got mine from and they won't do well to hold the lid closed. Luckily everything snaps into the base part, but that is also a problem. Getting the sockets out is a nightmare and you can't easily see what sizes are what for the smaller ones since they are facing up. They did etch the sizes into the plastic but its nearly impossible to read without being 6" away with very good light.
Other thing I don't like is the lack of a 17mm deep socket. I was hoping to get one w/this set but it goes from 9-16 which is a very dumb/odd size selection. Luckily there aren't any skips that I saw. 4-13mm for 1/4 drive regular sockets (including 4.5mm), 8-21mm for 3/8" regular which is a great selection. I like the color-coded sides and super easy to read laser etching. I plan on swapping out the random sockets in my go-to toolbox with these as much as I can and if I lose one, I already have backups :-)
Case is trash the area where they had these at my Lowes almost 90% of them were open due to the case being so cheap. They had around 20 of these at my store in North Georgia
I just got 2 at $24.07 each from their Chicago South store. As others here mentioned, the case is not great. But considering all the pieces you get for the price this is an amazing deal

Good deal? I saw a store within 30 minutes drive from me has 6 available...
