Ryobi sells more upscale/improved versions of all of these tools. I own the larger glue gun, larger rotary/Dremel station, and hybrid soldering station.
Soldering Iron - purely portability. Not particularly great but it will do basic jobs. The larger hybrid soldering station uses batteries or AC power, has temperature control, and you can swap out the soldering tips easily if you don't like them. I used the hybrid soldering station for landscape wiring and lighting outside - which was great. I solder in the garage or indoors depending on season. No extension cord and a 3 or 4 ah battery lasts plenty long.
Mini-glue gun - good. Thinking about picking one up (separately) despite having the larger one already. The larger glue gun I have gets insanely hot - the glue smokes sometimes. The mini glue gun uses a coil that heats up when on its base, and consumes smaller glue sticks. Way more portable and won't destroy your hands if you drip glue on them. Probably more appropriate for crafting IMO.
Rotary tool - Bad. Most reviews say it's underpowered. The larger rotary tool station is a bit less portable, hybrid (battery or AC power), has a lot more power (adjustable), and comes with a decent set of starter cut-off blades and tips (not a big deal). The larger/hybrid station could use a longer cable that attaches the tool to the station base. Aside from that, I use it constantly. Batteries seem to last forever too.

Unless in some remote location, if you are going to be attached to a cord that is attached to a battery that needs to be charged, just buy a decent temperature variable iron and plug it into the wall.

That leaves paying $60 for a soldering iron and a reportedly bad rotary tool as bare tools. Bad deal.
I imagine this would be about worthless for same DIY soldering kits and circuit board repair but could be great around the garage.

Thank you for this detailed review with comparison to other options. Some people just throw out their opinions and say yes and no with nothing to compare to.

Edit:
Looks like the pinecil may be the newest incarnation of what the TS100 started, suggest looking into that as well as another poster noted above.

That said, this deal is a bit meh. It's not completely bad, but you could piece this kit together for about the same price or a bit cheaper (or a LOT cheaper if you don't mind refurb/blem from DTO) by watching sales.

Larger rotary tool is not hybrid. Only battery powered
Same for glue gun, and soldering iron.

150w inverter is good for up to 1.25a output at 120v. Larger model Dremels may not work
