It's not bad at all. 40W is actually good. The majority of soldering irons are between 15-35watts. There are some more expensive ones between 60-80w but they still only go up to about 899 degrees. For example, the Weller 40W soldering station goes up to 899 degrees as well. Upgrading to an 80w iron will not give you any heat upgrade, maybe just more continuous heat for longer periods. For higher watts and heat, you need a Heat gun.

Man, I need all 3 items to complete my tool collection. I wish this was a hack. DTO does not offer sale on all these items at the same time to justify outrageous $15 shipping.
