The short version
The ROG Flow Z13 in its 128GB configuration is $3299.99 at ASUS (deal link), Best Buy and Abt, and about $2969.99 at ASUS if you qualify for ID.me. After the 2026 memory price surge re-priced every 128GB machine on the market, this is the cheapest complete 128GB unified-memory machine you can buy new, and the only one that is also a full Windows 2-in-1 with a screen and a battery. The new (not open box, not refurb) version has never been posted here.

Why this price is good right now
Nothing in this category got cheaper in 2026. NVIDIA raised the DGX Spark from $3999 to $4699 in February, citing memory supply. Framework's 128GB Desktop launched at $1999 and is now $3449. This Z13 launched at $2699.99 and now sells for $3299.99. Everything went up, but the Z13 went up the least, which left it at the floor. Every other way to hold 128GB locally costs more today:

- Framework Desktop 128GB (same chip, no SSD included, no screen): $3449
- GMKtec EVO-X2 128GB mini PC: $3499.99 and up
- GEEKOM A9 Mega 128GB mini PC at Best Buy: $3849.99
- AMD Ryzen AI Halo dev platform at Micro Center: $3999.99
- This same laptop, new, from large eBay sellers: $4163.99
- NVIDIA DGX Spark: $4699 list, often more at retail
- Mac Studio with 128GB (current M5 Max, 1TB): $5399

What it runs well, and what it does not
The draw is capacity. The Ryzen AI Max+ 395 shares its 128GB LPDDR5X pool between CPU and GPU, and up to 96GB can be assigned to the GPU (ASUS confirms this in the Best Buy Q&A for this model), so 70B to 120B class models fit locally with room for a large context. No consumer graphics card can hold them.
MoE models run genuinely well in published testing: gpt-oss 120B at around 31 to 34 tok/s, Qwen3 30B-A3B at around 72 tok/s.
Dense models are bandwidth bound. At 256GB/s, a dense 70B runs at roughly 5 tok/s. If fast dense 70B chat is your goal, the 128GB Mac Studio is the better machine, and it costs $5399. This one wins on price per gigabyte and on being a portable Windows 2-in-1, not on raw generation speed.
One setup note: the default GPU memory allocation is only 4GB. Set Variable Graphics Memory to 96GB in Armoury Crate or AMD Software before loading large models, or they will not fit.

Ways to pay less than $3299.99
- ASUS.com (deal link): ID.me verification for students, teachers, military and first responders takes 10% off, bringing it to about $2969.99. urlhasbeenblocked is currently 2% cash back at ASUS.com (about $66).
- Best Buy (same price, sold by Best Buy, SKU 6629541): a new My Best Buy Visa gets 10% back in rewards on first-day purchases (about $330 in certificates); existing cardholders get 5% back. urlhasbeenblocked and urlhasbeenblocked run 1 to 2% at Best Buy.
- Check your Capital One Shopping account for a targeted Best Buy offer before ordering. Rates as high as 13% have been reported, but gaming laptops are often in the exclusions, so read the terms on your own offer.
- B&H does not carry this model.

BH photo has same price. I would avoid buying from Asus direct unless it's only option. If anything goes wrong with the order they are pita dealing with

Explanation lines up with everything I have seen. This is a great price for a 128GB unified memory platform IF that actually does what you need.

Just 128GBs of ram alone is now a couple of grand. Madness, but that's the current situation :/

Good god. Just checked the 2x32GB kit I bought in March that was ALREADY insane at $600. Now it's 1100 and still selling 100+ units a month on Amazon. Madness.
