This is tempting. I have a wife and daughter with series 2s I think and they love them. They work fine, just wondering if the added capabilities are worth it. And wondering if they would like or hate the larger size.
I have series 2 which I haven't worn in probably over a year. I'm over the watch.
I wear my series 3 and, after four years, I'm also over it.
The only reasons that I think having the Apple Watch makes sense:
* You exercise frequently and want to track your Health progress
* You have a medical condition that needs daily tracking and/or requires instant alerts
* You are at serious risk of falling and would require aid/911 if detected
* Your career or family/life is such that you cannot miss an alert or notification; you must know instantly without even the delay of pulling a phone out of your pocket
Other than those, however, the Apple Watch is a hard sell for me. The Activity app is the only one that's applicable to me and I've gotten my money's worth in 4 years, but a Fitbit tracker would have done the same for less money.
It's a problem in search of a big solution. I think if they can accomplish more heath stuff, especially glucose monitoring, then it'll make a lot more sense. For now …it's a totally optional purchase.
