Here's what I understand is the best PS5 internal expansion SSD. Been waiting for the price to drop. Was recently $320
Comes without heatsink but as I understand you can install one yourself pretty easily and is less than $15. Here is a link to one that I hear works well:
Model: MHQJRH M.2 2280 SSD heatsink, Double-Sided Heat Sink, with Thermal Silicone pad for PC / PS5 M.2 PCIE NVMe SSD or M.2 SATA SSD

I am truly not trying to be a smart a$$ but the answer to your question seems obvious. Its like asking "How much more milk would a 2 gallon jug hold then a 1 gallon jug?". The "scale' really can't be answered though due to the difference in game sizes.
As for the SN850s I have the 1TB version of these drives in my new build and they are AMAZING. I have two in a RAID and the third as my OS/App drive. They impress not just in benchmarks but IRL uses as well. If you can, always go for the larger drive as it almost always works out best in the long run. It amazes me how few games it takes to fill up a 2TB drive now a days.
Hard to imagine anyone would be really disappointed in these drives.
Take care & have F U N!!

Got one of these last month with that exact heatsink. Installing the sink is simple and probably takes longer than installing it to the PS5, which doesn't take long at all.
yeah this is a great price for the 2tb, I picked up the 1tb from best buy for I think 140 after tax when it was on a rare sale, so this is about as good as that per byte.

what's the restore process like? Do you just redownload everything or did you transfer games out to another medium?

I did this process too many times to count, haha. This adds on additional storage. You can continue to use your PS5 like normal, but the internal transfer is definitely slower than installing your games directly to your new drive. Be sure to check the drive for any firmware updates before you install it on your PS5.
I bought a bunch of the 2tb ssd's off bb for the 320 price, I love my ps5 now. tons of games loaded w no issues with space or updating. wouldn't own ps5 without I tnow

Decent price on 2tb, but I think 1tb will be fine for my ps5 but waiting for $100ish range. Already have external ssd for ps4 games.
I know prices will get there, I just bought the intel 670p 1tb deal for $80 for a laptop upgrade. What is so special about gen 4 that it costs double....
Anyway not in a rush, only have a couple of ps5 games anyway. And if I run out in the meantime, COD can go bye bye, that's like 250gb right there

Thanks for the tip on firmware update. How do you do that though? Connect to a pc?
How many more games will 2TB vs. 1TB store? Are we talking on scale of 5-10 more or 10-20 more? I think price difference can be around $150 per TB right now, but not sure I'd ever fill 2TB. (Although if COD can get to be 250GB, then 1TB sounds pretty small.)

Why'd you buy a bunch? PC also?

No problem! Yup, any open M.2 slot on a laptop or desktop will do. As far as I know, you can't use an external adapter to update the drive.
