I think these bobby pins are worth trying for <$1 and free shipping w/ Prime or Walmart+.

The overall review rating is 4.5 / 5 stars from 13,000+ reviews. The negative reviews seem to relate to the "ouchless" larger opening. I've added a pic to the original post which shows this design.

I mostly buy these to open the locks on the bedroom/bathroom doors. 5/5 for that!

I also have a teenager - she does things with the bobby-pins and works on the school play - so win/win.
