The Crescent Lufkin Control Series is right at home in the hands of professionals who want a tape measure that works as hard as they do. The 1-3/16" wide tape with extra-large print has 12 feet of true standout to tackle any job, and the matte finish both reduces glare and protects the blade, ensuring that it holds up through heavy use. The finger brake beneath the tape's feed allows the user to control the blade without risk of pinching, and the blade can be locked in place with the wide lock button protected by over-mold rails. Of course, the best-in-class durability of the Control Series does not stop at the lock button rails – the ergonomic case survived 50+ 1-story drops in real life strength testing. The Control Series excels, from the integrated tether point to the 360 degree grip end hook. The Crescent Wiss® quick-change utility knife features an ergonomic comfort grip that keeps your hand securely in place when making cuts in any environment. The knife blade securely locks in both the open and closed positions for added safety. The quick-change lever and embedded blade storage let you quickly swap out blades, without having to search for replacements.
Protected lock button and 6-point dual material case for increased durability

Anti-pinch, finger tip control feature for increased control when retracting the tape

360 Degree end hook and 12 foot standout make it easy for one person use

Matte clear protective blade coating for better visibility and durability of the blade

Have this tape and while it's better than basic stuff it doesn't come close to StanleyMax in stiffness or thickness. Still good deal if you find it for $5

I would get the Milwaukee 2 x25ft set from HD (some stores still have them for $15). They are not the best tapes, but at least double sided. Milwaukee's 2 pack utility knife set is one of the best for the money.
Lufkin's nite eye is good tape tho

I have a couple of these tapes. They're not trash but they're nothing special either. As the above poster mentioned, they don't have markings on both sides so I don't grab them first.

The good thing about having an extra tape is that I always know where it is whenever I lose my regular tape, which happens daily.

I'd stay away from this tape measure. It look like Lufkin QC allows for bad markings on the tape itself.

No wonder they're on clearance.
I prefer a tape that is imperial (or metric) all the way across. tried of combo tapes.
