Nothing is getting cheaper-have you be looking at the cost of goods over the last few months

The target deal was the same processor but 128 sata m.2, only 4gb of ram and lacked a backlit keyboard for $110 less. I can tell you the screen is not great. I wouldn't call it crap but it's definitely not impressive.

Let me know what you see for this price. My HP i3 from 11 years ago is on its last leg and need a replacement. I'm pretty sure I paid $300 then for it so I guess I overpaid.

I just got the latter shipped on Friday and still in return window. Not sure differences between processors.

Basic kids virtual school, web browsing and light web games would be typical use.

Big difference in laptop size/weight, that's really the first thing you need to consider when buying a laptop.

Thanks.

The one from Walmart it's a decent size and not unwieldy like a 17". Maybe I'll just stick with what I have. I was able to squeak a weird promo code into the Walmart site for an additional $10 off. So all in all this one is a smaller laptop for $10 less.

I'm pretty sure this is built off the same chassis, except back-lit keyboard and i3-1115 instead of the i3-1125 processor on the Target, as the "Target HP 14" SD deal a month or so ago. Look it up for applicable info. Although only a 2c/4t processor, the i3-1115 is very capable and is faster in typical single-core use that most people do daily than the i3-1125 4c/8t in the old target deal (which was $100 less).

Last year similar with the 10th gen i3 was $350 I guess inflation is causing price increase across the board. If you don't need one will say hold off until you really need one

Is this laptop good enough to run Roblox and Minecraft? Looking for a laptop for my son but not trying to break the bank just to play 2 games.

Whoa - I should read closer! Yes, same processor. I swiched mine to a 256GB NVMe 2230 drive, one of those OEM ones that people insta-remove from other laptops. I don't do anything remotely taxing either the original SATA drive of the newer, faster NVMe but I can say it boots up in roughly the same amount of time and I'm on the desktop as fast as any other higher-spec laptop I have,

I would say the screen sufficient for everyday tasks. I think it qualifies as an average screen sold these days.

i3-1125 has 4 cores as opposed to just 2 on i3-1115. And there's some huge performance bump with those extra cores. This laptop is a good deal imo
