Not quite as nice as the one that included 3 & 6Ah batteries instead of the 2 & 4Ah ones in this kit, for $189 on BF then $199 thereafter, but still very nice. The tool alone is $179 so this is quite the deal with the 2 batteries, charger and case for just $10 more.

If you've been thinking of getting either the 3/8" or 1/2" version of this, BUY THIS NOW. You won't see a better deal except maybe one with the 3/6Ah batteries and who knows when that will come back again, if ever. These are really nice impact wrenches and widely seen as the best all-around ones made today.

If you're more in the DeWalt camp, though, they recently came out with their own version of a stubby impact that's probably just as good. But no comparable deals.

What would be better, having the Milwaukee with 2 batteries or going with the RiDGID version with 3/8 and 1/2" and 1 battery? Pricing is similar with the RiDGID being $10 more.

U get what you pay for. Not saying ridgid isn't good but the nut busting torque rating on the milwaukee is as good as its advertised. There is a YouTube comparison of it against 6 other brands and it outdid all of them.

I own this one and the stubby 1/2 M18 for larger more stubborn jobs and haven't been disappointed.

Edit: if you don't do a ton of automotive work that requires high torque then the ridgid is a good deal. I am a hobbyist that tinkers with cars often enough to need the most I can get out of these tools so the milwaukee was a wise choice.

Also size is a big factor. Look at how big the subcompact Ridgid is with the full size battery.

I don't believe it's much bigger. What matters isn't the overall length but the stubbiness so u can fit in tight spots while trying to break a nut loose.

I think this M12 is slightly longer than the M18 subcompact. I'm waiting for the M18 subcompact to be on sale.

FYI Milwaukee has the new gen M18 mid torque which is a good bit stronger as well as now stubby if you dont want to deal with M12. I have 1st gen mid torque and its been solid for wheels, brakes and suspension.

I don't get the point of this Ridgid deal for most people. You get two of the exact same tool except for the anvil, a 2Ah battery and charger. The Milwaukee kit comes with only one tool, which is all that you need in a subcompact if you choose well (you can always get a mid torque for the occasional tough fastener it can't handle, or just use a breaker/cheater), and a 2 & 4Ah battery, charger, and case, for $10 less. I think there's no contest.

Depends on your application. 2.0 is plenty for lugnuts. They also make a CP3.0 battery as well.

If you compare the M12 stubby with two batteries deal compared to two ridgid subcompacts only but with only 1 battery, it's no contest I would go with the stubby.

The XC designation makes a big difference in power output. XC starts at 4.0. I'm pretty sure that's what the guy was trying to tell you. The smaller CP batteries make uggah, uggahs but they aren't as big.

First of all, they make a XC 3.0. Second of all, I'm not totally disagreeing with him. I'm just saying it depends on the application. For standard car lug nuts, small batteries are sufficient.
