Could you point to a study and comparison for such ? I've been using Xtra since forever and clothing turned out fine. I'm genuinely curious about this.

You mean extra water, as you'll put Xtra as well 😁
CR has Xtra in the lower ratings in its test. Just a little above Sun detergent.
Purux with Clorox2 is the best rated Purex and similar to some All detergents.
Someone posted the links to the CR test. Let me see if I can find when I am on my home PC later.

Thats one of the lower rated Purux ones. If you want the best performing one it has to be the Clorox2 version.

Better to have less of something that works better IMO.
The others will be ok if your clothes are not that dirty. But I work in my yard/home, exercise, and work on cars. So the basic stuff does not work well for me.
Yea its in the Photo showing its HE. I've never had issue using it in my front loader.

If you really need 50oz this is great, but I never could justify them over the larger cheaper per oz sizes. It's a hassle enough cleaning one container so it's ready for recycling, multiplying that by three is not appealing. By cleaning I mean rinsing (into the wash) until the water coming out of the container has no signs of detergent left.

Instead of trying to get those 'dirty job' clothes perfect, I just settle for OK and keep them away from everything else. When it's dirty job time, those go on, and when it's wash time they go in by themselves and soak with a little extra detergent. It's never coming off but I am not wearing this stuff anywhere else.
For exercise/sweat stains, this should be enough. If you are generating stains purex can't get out, kudos to you, but I would just have a workout set of clothes. If you are concerned over your look at a gym then getting some darker stain resistant gym clothes is probably best. I'm not fancy like that so my gym clothes are my normal clothes strictly to catch the sweat. Purex cleans them fine with my normal wash (cold all colors mixed).
