Fabuloso is a surface cleaner, not a laundry detergent.
Xtra is about as bottom of the barrel as it gets for laundry detergent.Purex is a mid-level detergent, esp the Clorox2 version. Its similar to All.
I choose ship to store for free and don't have to get 6. I have to wait a few days but that's ok for me.

Here's the CR ratings for laundry detergents...

https://postimg.cc/gallery/XqrDg0J

Overall Score - Brand

37 - Xtra Plus Oxiclean

43 - Purex Mountain Breeze

54 - Tide PurClean

56 - Purex Plus Clorox2

62 - Tide Free & Gentle

76 - Kirkland Sig (Costco Brand)

Just a few to give an idea where they stand. Higher score is better for those wondering.

Yea the Arm and Hammer is similar to Purex. Some work well and others not so much.

Have to select the exact mix even in the same name brand. Tide is that way now also. Some at the top and others at best mid/lower level.

Purex is HE rated so it works in HE and regular/older style washing machines.
I've never had an issue with it in my front loader.

Could you point to a study and comparison for such ? I've been using Xtra since forever and clothing turned out fine. I'm genuinely curious about this.

Keep in mind, you need to pick the detergent based on the TYPES of stains your clothes get.

In other words, if you're in the office all day in air conditioned rooms, a detergent that does well for body oils is all you need. No point paying for a detergent that's Amazing for Dirt and Grass in this case.

Also, you can Boost lower end detergents for the rare cases.
Oxiclean powder and Chlorox Beach Free (both at Target in scented and unscented) added to cheaper detergents better than washing $$$ Tide down the drain for office clothes.

On the flip side, if you have little monsters from hell with dirt, blood, grass, and more, top end Tide/Persil that have ingredients to tackle everything will be worth it.

Finally, the enzymes and ingredients in LIQUID detergents degrade over time. Even Tide recommends only a year of shelf storage, so while buying a TON of liquid detergent might seem a bargain, if it's sitting 2, 3+ years, it won't work as well by then.

Powdered detergents can sit years - just wrap the box in thick, moisture proof plastic bags.

Thanks so much for posting! I received an email from Walgreens this morning offering a $10 rewards bonus on a $10+ order. So I got 6 of these in mixed varieties for a total of $2 plus tax after the $10 reward to my MyWalgreens account, to spend on anything they sell on my next order. Oh and I threw in some Hershey's Special Dark Almond Nuggets at 2 for $7 on sale(10.6 oz. each). Not a great deal on the nuggets but not terrible either. These Walgreens deals can be amazing at times. Repped for sure and thanks again.

ok, thanks for that info ! Xtra it is then as it's proven to have my clothes clean (no heavy soil, oil, or grease ) so it's fine for its purpose. No reasons to wash down the drain with expensive stuff if one doesn't need it.

Nope. Save the money and earth.
But with the frequent dollar sales on cheap detergents, if Xtra becomes hard to find, it's worth testing a few now so you know there's always something cheap you can buy to substitute.

From past experience. You need to set the store you want to follow on this website and order the item that day or a day or two after the deal is posted to get the deal. Not two weeks later. Didn't work for me either, I tried today
