Not a bad price, but quality isn't great. Comparable to Ghirardelli or tollhouse.

Best baking chocolate I've found is private selection (Kroger's "premium" brand).

Since when does anyone but Costco sell Kirkland.

I know third-party resellers get that stuff from Costco and flip it. But this is supposedly directly from Amazon? Looks suspicious to me.

TraderJoe's Choc Chips/Chunks are very good. Chips are 12 oz, chunks are 10 oz.

This is the exact same price I just paid for these at Costco, in store, on Jan 14th without any coupons.

But SD doesn't get their commission if you goto the costco store and buy directly. That's why they are peddling the online click through buy thro amazon so they get their cut. It's all about the benjamins now, slick or not.

Does anyone know who actually makes Kirkland chocolate chips?

Can confirm, it's true.

I used to get private selection white chocolate chips. Were great, thought I would upgrade for even better and get Ghirardelli…. Bought a few packs only to find they didn't have any actual cocoa butter so wasn't even real white chocolate (which already isn't "real" chocolate).

Have only bought private selection since!

I prefer mini chocolate chips version, since you get more amount and distribution for similar calories. Especially if using it for brownies or cookies.

I rank these between Nestle toll house and Ghirardelli

Me too! I clicked on this thread so confused wondering why this deal was posted....you could make tons of threads on stuff cheaper at Sams/Costco vs Amazon except when liquidated from Amazon....

Yeah. That's what I was thinking. It's like it fell out the back of a truck and being resold.

Even if everything is ligit, it might have gone on a long journey to get to amazon, so it might be old. Maybe not old enough to matter if it is old. Such a crap shoot. I don't want to think about it.

I'm out

Costco sameday service sells this for about $9. I only use about .5 tbsp at a time for mix ins in protein ice cream or adding to a brownie mini loaf cake. So it would take me forever to finish a 4.5 pound bag.
