They are basically the same product just that powdered is finer. Powdered is useful in applications were you want something to dissolve quicker and more evenly like in a compound butter or an onion dip. You can put granulated onion into a spice mill and get powdered onion.

Y'all need to read closer.

THE ITEM IN THIS DEAL WAS NOT GROWN, PICKED, PROCESSED, OR PACKAGED IN CHINA.

The other half of you need to read for yourself rather than taking the first guy's word as fact. Take that lesson throughout life...

Why does this sound like something one might do in Minecraft

Almost all raw materials that are in your food comes from china. If it says "USA" more then likely, they are a repackager and you are getting the exact same Chinese product, you are trying to avoid. I need to source raw materials /component's for my job ( vitamins, stabilizers etc). They are all from China .

Consumer reports recently did a thing on heavy metals in spices. Anyone know if onion from McCormick is ok?

How many food poisoning cases occur in the US? You think we have food safety figured out?

Yes, anyone who works in supply chain management for a big firm will likely go there at some point-what is your point?

When does one use
Granulated vs powdered?
McCormick Granulated Onion is made from whole white onions that are gently dehydrated and ground to deliver consistent, pure onion flavor. So convenient, it makes it a snap to add savory richness to just about any dish ̶ from dips to soups, vegetables, chicken and burgers. Granulated onion is an easy way to add full, fresh onion flavor when your recipe doesn't require the texture of fresh onions or you want to avoid the hassle of peeling and chopping onions. Use 1 tbsp. granulated onion in place of ½ cup chopped fresh onions. Our granulated onion has a coarser texture that onion powder, making it ideal as a base for homemade dry rubs and seasoning blends. Sprinkle over meat before roasting or grilling, or shake on potatoes, pastas and salads.

Yeah, because the garlic farm is in Beijing with the smog and all (almost like London in the goo'ol days), and in Gilroy they don't grow it by the freeway, because they care. No offence, but get real. Tired of this China bigotry, and I'm not even from there. Criticize them for what they actually do, unless of course the US or UK are undeniably doing it too, in which case it is A-OK, as always.
