I have a couple this purchased within the last 3-5 years at $6-$7 each. It works well. The design of the switch is to avoid plugging and unplugging. When you have more than one device, you need to trace each cable is for which device after unplug. With a switch, you just put a label on it or remember which port. I use it to turn off a webcam and a microphone whenever I don't need it.

I'm kind of a stickler for having my wires arranged properly and hidden from view. It triggers some sort of OCD tendencies when it doesn't look perfect. So something like this is perfect for me.

The individual power switches are a nice touch. Wouldn't expect that from a $10 product.

How would that be useful when you can just unplug it from the hub instead

It looks appealing, until you discover the short cable (only 8 inches).

These used to be around $6 with coupon.

used to be FAR from Newegg

if you want to play the "used to be" game, might as well really go for it:

Prices 1960...
Cost of a first-class stamp: $0.04
Cost of a gallon of regular gas: $0.31
Cost of a dozen eggs: $0.57
Cost of a gallon of Milk: $0.49

"Used to be" == 2/3 years ago. Not 1960

So it has gone up near 66% in a couple of years. #OhNoInflationEggsUsedToBeCheapYearsAgo

I purchased this exact one about a year ago for my work web camera and work headphones. The power buttons allows me to keep the headphones on, but turn off the web camera (or the other two slots). Extremely useful knowing the web camera does not have power.

I am using a USB extension, nice clean up with hiding all the cables with the benefit of having the on/off switches for each USB device.

Almost all external hard drives annoyingly lack a power button, so they're spinning full-time if connected (or bouncing between sleep and spinning irregularly). So this is a great way to add back that on/off feature we should have never lost in the usual dumbing down of hardware for stupid people who call tech support freaking out about their hard drive disappearing...
