X81CH is Costco exclusive of X800H. Equivalent of current X80J (arguably slightly better) These are no frills IPS sets, but good deal for a solid basic set if you aren't as concerned about contrast, etc. One big plus on these vs the other budget sets is very wide viewing angle, even among IPS screens.

I've read that these are actually brighter with HDR, etc than the X80J sets. But being this are the Costco version of the X800H I believe these would be considered 2020 models so going on (2) years old. A nice deal with the Costco warranty and return policy, etc. I do really with these had the atsc 3.0 next gen ota tuners in them though.

I wonder if Costco will be getting 'new' versions of these models?

Is it better to pay $50 more and get 65" X85J for $798?

Actually $100 more for X85J. Picture quality on X85J will be a noticeable improvement. X85J has arguably better motion, ATSC 3.0, and HDMI 2.1 (although usefulness of this is debatable). Viewing angles will not be as good and it only has 1 year warranty vs 3 year. If that is worth $100 difference to you, then get the X85J.

Thanks...do you think the picture quality alone is worth $100 extra?

Just purchased the Sony after viewing the Samsung and LG 65" in the store. We swore we'd never buy Sony products years ago because of all the proprietary stuff they use but this picture is noticeably better than the competitors. Our house has 3 other Samsung TVs FWIW. Didn't feel like splurging on the OLED/QLED line
