This is a great deal for 1TB.
I have bought the 500GB version 4 times and they go fast. 2400 read /1800 write for them. FWIW I prefer a 500GB NVMe with backing up select files on a 7200RPM hard drive in the same computer. My reason is that if all you have in a computer/laptop is a 1TB NVMe and it fails, then you are ScreweD!

The 670p is going to be a better preformer overall. The SN570 have better endurance. I'd just spend $12-20 more and get the Samsung.

Honestly, I don't think you'd notice much different a if they were Gen 4 x4. That being said, that isn't a cheap laptop!

not quite, SN570 is faster in random I/O and seq write in most cases

WD has been good to me with warranty. One of my WD Red 4 TB drives bit the dust. They had me run their diagnostic utility and gave them the results. They shipped me a replacement for free and the shipment back was paid by them.
