This is a great deal on a gen 4 SSD drive. Perfect for PS5 or that next system build project.

Seems too cheap. What am I missing? No heat sink? Too small? I just don't know what I am talking about?

OP, I'm seeing 175, not 155. Is there a code you're applying?

EDIT: That's weird, when I clicked your link it took me to 175, but there was a link below it to the same item that showed 155. Bizarre.

Thank you! In for one... tired of deleting on my PS5

*NOTE* this does not come with a heatsink but they can be found for less than $20 on Amazon. The version w/heatsink is on sale as well: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/wd-w...Id=6474398

I know it's for a PS5, but branding a storage drive (mong other things) as "Gaming" is an instant no-buy

Just picked up a new computer. The OS drive is a gen 3. My board supports Gen 4. Should I just get this clone it over and use that gen 3 as a data drive? I was already going to get a data drive anyways. I know I won't see real world differences. just figure not spending that much more for the upgrade.

WD gen4 black OS/program drive
MSI gen3 data drive
16TB exos data drive

is the heatsink more for the PS5?!! I was looking at this or the Samsung 980 pro. (mainly for SWA reward pts/companion)

$155 for a "game drive" that's fractionally faster for PCs than a decent SATA drive.

Y'all need to know that, outside of niches such as media production and console expansion, you're getting hosed by an early adopter tax. 2tb drives occasionally go on sale at around this price and can still be useful for direct storage api's in the future if you go NVMe.

PCIe 5 is coming, expect these drives to fall to a less clownish price by then. I expect microsoft's direct storage api won't be out yet and even still it'll be a while until it gets adoption by many games.

Don't be a sucker, this thing is only fractionally faster for IRL uses- sequential read/write speeds are seldom useful for 99% of users.

My apologies I know a lot of people are looking for PS5 drives, well I've been asked a bunch. But yes can be used as well for Computer bill project.

The 2TB deals on this and the 980 Pro are better, this is too much for 1TB. I paid $127 for this in November.
