The white and black look better. The Vinyl used on the brown is too smooth and has no texture.

The Monoprice steel stands are good for the money. Get 24 inch or 28 inch depending on your seated listening height.

They are basically a more affordable version of the B&W STAV24 stands.

To determine if they are overpriced you should listen to them. Not based on the cabinet finish. KEF is a great audio company but you may prefer another company's sound characteristics.

I've owned a couple of KEF products over the years with no issues.
