FWIW - the TD page says the manufacturer is "Joy Systems", not TrippLite. Joy Systems is a refurb distributor. That's why there's a 90-day warranty. And don't count on the "$20,000 insurance" which is on the Amazon listing.

Man this is shady. The word "refurbished" doesn't appear to be anywhere on the page. Only if you click on "Warranty" do you see this Joy Systems is involved and they sell refurbished products. Guess Tiger Direct hasn't changed much.

Very interesting. I couldn't find any mention of refurbished on the info tabs. Wonder if the product will have any markings indicating it.

Last time I used Tiger Direct I did NOT receive anything. Big hassle with credit card company. My advice is STAY AWAY!

$5 hard to pass thanks OP.

My experience w/Tiger has been good, Sinewave UPS came direct from MFG with very recently manufactured batteries, did take a while for delivery, but not a problem and cheaper than buying batteries for existing UPS.

In for one for the shop really not for the surge protection but to plug in multiple small draw equipment. For $5, couldn't pass up. Hope I get this from Tiger Direct so we shall see.
