I own this and it's good for powdery snow but anything slushy bogs it down quickly. Also the wheels leave much to be desired. Probably fine for most, but it's not always ideal for Minnesota winters.

I received by snow blower today. FedEx did a good job of taking care of handling it. The box was in ok shape. The snow blower appears to be in good/like new condition. The nut for lower handle locking mechanism was loose. I added extra nut to lock the original nut in place so it doesn't come loose again. I have a lot of packed snow in the driveway and I'm not sure if this blower can handle breaking it up and throwing it. Anyone else tried it on packed snow? Probably have to be careful of directing the chute away from anything valuable just in case you throw a chunk and damage something?
To break up the snow jammed at the end of your driveway, with THIS blower, first go really easy to chip away an opening OR use a shovel to do it manually. Then do about HALF the width of the blower at a time, and it should get the job done.

You will be fine if you BE AWARE of it's strength and LIMITATIONS.

I tightened mine as well but now it wont fold over to the compact position unless i loosen those nuts. Even when open those gray handles on the side.
Tightened too tight. I put the levers in lock position then I tightened the gold nuts. Til was snug, then I undid handles and made sure could fold.

FedEx delivered mine today. The box looked re-taped and had holes in it. After he dropped off the box, he returned from his truck with the manual and a few loose parts, washers and such.

Where do those washers belong? I don't see any on mine and my box also had giant holes at the bottom.

I guess I was wrong. It snowed last night so I could I test more today. The blower was running when there was no snow. But even with light snow, it would stop after 2-3 seconds. Seemed like it did not have enough power. The impeller is very tight and hard to move manually. Not sure whether that is the problem. Probably I will ask for refund.

So I got my unit today... but looks like part of it is cracked.

They just shipped it in a box with no Styrofoam or padding, so I suspect it might have been damaged while transit.

In any case, I called and they say all they can do is take it back and give refund.. as they are out of stock of the same unit. I don't want to get refund as I want that unit.

Anyone know if DTO will give like partial refund and let you keep it?

Do you know how Ryobi will "fix" it under warranty? Are they sending you a new unit?
Because obviously it's cracked and can't really be fixed per say...

Thanks for the tip

Bought this, and it was delivered today. It was missing screws and washers for the handle where it folds, but the bigger problem was that the front-left side of the frame is majorly bent to the point the plastic on the inside that holds the auger is completely broken. It looks like someone drive this thing into a metal pole at 30 mph. The customer support rep was really nice and started a refund for me, but I'll NEVER buy a factory reconditioned item from them again. This was definitely not anywhere near a factory reconditioned state. It is unusable.

Well, The extra parts all found their home. The washer and nut went to the "G" adjustable handle and the plastic caps went right in some tubing seen from the back underneath. While not new, it's in decent shape. The auger and scraper are new. The batteries were boxed and almost fully charged so I just topped them off.

What a piss poor job of packing.

FYI: One trick I learned with my Greenworks, 12 amp chorded was WD-40 in the chute keeps it from clogging.

I hope I get to test this thing tomorrow, here on the east coast.

Yikes. Sounds like "someone" really didn't refurbished any of this lot.

Sounds a lot like the one I got from eBay, except that I ended up paying $100 due to a partial refund.

Now we are supposed to get upto 24" of snow in Boston tomorrow.

I've got this one, with 4 batteries, AND my big two stage gas powered one ready.

Let's see how the Ryobi handles this blizzard...

I'm going to get a brand new unit at the end of all this. Watch. Lol I'm gonna fight like hell. If it's anything less than new condition in performance I will be demanding the new model. Or they can refund me and will keep the blower.

We will see how repair goes
