induction cooktop is perfect for hotpot indoor. I used for hotpot regularly. heat up fast and no worry of carbon dioxide. If you feel not heating up well, then it is your pots issue. Get a cheap pot from Asian market instead of 5 ply All-clad. Some of those expensive pots do not work well with induction. But the cheap stainless steel one always work so well.laugh out loud
Free shipping is only available when buying on best buy's ebay store. Not available when buying on bestbuy.com as the price is under $35 (34.99) and 1 cent under the free shipping threshold.
Bought it last time. Overall it's fine. Heats up my cast iron pans very fast. Useful to do bacon or steaks outside. Main negative is that it seems to really crank up and then ease off, even when set to max, so I switch to temp mode and back to get it to crank back up often. Also, maybe this is the same with all induction, but using a bigger pan is somewhat pointless since it's amazing how focused the heat generation is.

If anyone wants to get this for hot pot, you will be disappointed. At least it doesn't work well in my experience. I tried several different pots with this induction cooktop but none heats up well.

We use a real induction hob, it's preprogrammed with various levels that do not cycle on/off. I was curious about your comment, and according to the owners manual, each setting is wattage based - level 1 is 300w all the to level 8 1800w. This means a EU2000 generator ought to run this puppy at the campground - much cleaner than a grill or campstove.

Is it a good idea to get the 2-Year Accidental Geek Squad Replacement for $9.99 ? Some reviews say that it stopped working after 15 days and they couldn't return it. Or just buy with Credit card that offer some extra warranty like the Citi Costco Visa ?

I would just use the credit card. Personally I wouldn't insure a $35 item at all, plus its Best Buy's house brand, so you should know it's meh quality.

If you want to use cast iron, you could get a heat diffuser on Amazon that would basically do the same thing as the disc does for regular cookware.
Would this method be hot enough to sear sliced meat on a cast iron grill pan...like Korean bbq?

For $35, I'll give it a shot for hot pot use. Don't forget 5% cash back for eBay with Chase Freedom bonus category this quarter

Would be interested in what you use. Have been searching for one that would be more reliable then just 3 uses as so many reviewers have stated on so many sites.

OK for this price, but I find the duxtop a much better stove. I don't like that this one requires two separate button presses to turn on, and it turns on way too hot, doesn't turn on at mid-range like the duxtop does. Also its range of 1-8 is kind of strange and it is more difficult to dial in. if doing a lot of cooking on it I'd go for another model.

Exactly what I use mine for. When I'm high heat searing or frying I take this outside and cook. Plus I use this to boil water faster
