Ryobi's pretty bad about over-inflating their torque specs, so I'd take those with a grain of salt. And I've owned the 1/2" drive P261 for about 5 years now, so I'm not hating on Ryobi.

This P263 struggles to take lugnuts off at 150 ft/lbs with a 6 Ah battery. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N72D3Wb9QF4

Funny this would pop up today as mine just caught on fire. Only had used it a couple times. Would strongly recommend looking for another brand as they have had several recalls on this brand.
If there actually is a recall on these, that would be good information to share.

However, I can't find any information that there has been any Ryobi recall for many years.

Does not look like they are brushless. Wonder if that makes it a great deal
Really depends on how often you use it. I'm a pretty hardcore weekend warrior type and I've only ever worn out one circular saw. None of my tools are brushless and I'm really hard on them. If you do a ton of mechanic work, you might want to go brushless (but at that point you're probably not looking at Ryobi anyway). For literally everyone else, these will last longer than you will need it to.

Just used the ratchet today. It was really handy to have.
Does it work well for mechanic work? Brake jobs, etc. How handy is it for getting into tight spaces, compared to a traditional ratchet?

I have this 3 speed impact. It has a lot of power and isn't excessively loud. I also have the cheaper ryobi brushless impact and this tool has more power and is less noisy than the brushless.
Some people report that it struggles to remove lug nuts., which is why I've held off. What is your experience?

It's def takes a lot more space than a standard ratchet but you don't have to have any swing room so all you have to do is get in there. I think with some u-joints, and extensions you'd be surprised what you can get into.

I contacted Ryobi support to get clarity on torque. This impact wrench in 3/8" has 220 ft lbs of torque and is more powerful than the brushless version. The only advantage of the brushless is it is more compact and perhaps better battery life if you're going to be driving bolts all day.
