When clipped in the hooks aren't meant to slide around. So you'd need to dismount the bike first before changing the hook position.

any recommendation on a hook that could take the weight of an eBike? mine isn't ridiculous but it is right at the rated 50lb limit of this one, and i'd rather not take my chances with tolerances.

If you mount the bracket into the studs, as recommended, you will have no issues with this

appreciate it. bike weighs 50lbs, bracket says *up to* 50lbs, and i didn't wanna push my luck.
