Roku does have HBO Max. If you're interested in those other options listed, then Roku is not for you. There are a lot of people who have no idea what those things are though, and for them Roku is a much simpler and more stable interface than Google TV, Fire TV etc.
I don't use Roku myself, as I like to tinker, but for most of my extended family members who just want to watch their shows, I recommend Roku. The one app I wish it had is Channels DVR, as I've used that to replace expensive cable box rentals in some households that still have traditional cable.
I have a 2.5 year old Vizio E series 70" and have non stop issues with the thing not turning on the arc not picking up sound needing constant power cycles
Man, why is Roku still a thing? Such basic, limited functionality
No:
HBO MAX
GeForce Now
Xbox Game Pass
BeeTV
Kodi
Emulators
Jailbreak/Sideload
And a flood of users who can't install prime video or Disney+ on TCL sets in Canada and the EU.

I have Roku...never had any problems It does offer HBO MAX Which I have as well as Showtime,Hulu,Netflix,Amazon Video,Peacock,Paramount+,Shudder,Disney+,HBOMAX,YouTube Tv,Etc.
I have a 65" Sharp TV and the black is splotchy--annoying af when there are dark scenes, or even when there are lighter scenes and I somehow notice it. Once I see it, I can't stop seeing it. I've been using the logic that if I replace it, I might as well go bigger, but the 65" footprint works fine, so this is tempting.
Re: Roku
on the same TV as above, I have my Xfinity cable box with plenty of 3rd party streaming available, a Roku box, and an Amazon Fire Cube. In most cases, I switch over to the Fire Cube because it does 4k whereas my Xfinity box does not. I *think* the Roku is also HD, but I haven't used it in so long that I don't recall. Literally haven't used Roku in at least a year or more. I find the Fire Cube to be much more useful.

Just another thing to go obsolete.
