Once upon a time, this was correct. However, now cables carry much more information than just a simple video and audio signal. The amount of information that runs through a a 4k 120hz signal with dolby atmos / dts x audio requires a lot more headroom.

Here's a good rundown of this info:

Yup. This deal is still a good price for cables, I was trying to mean that if you're buying new tech you'll need 48gbps cables and shared the ones that I went with even though they aren't on sale right now. Wasn't meaning to imply that this deal isn't good, just that one should look for a 48gbps cable deal instead.

18Gbps cables. I personally went with 48gbps cables [amazon.com] for my own setup (4k OLED, PS5, 144hz 1440p monitor, apple tv 4k 2021), but see what works for your needs.

Sams is self branding non certified cables? Big yikes. My new Denon receiver tests HDMI cables, and I will never ever buy anything that isn't certified now. These cables will be obsolete soon, if they are already not obsolete for your setup.
Not sure why you say it's uncertified, it has the certification right on the package.

10ft cable you posted is $23.99 for one, this is a twin pack for $10 bucks.

I'm not sure what you're getting at.

For the last few years there is a QR code on all certified products. That is what I look for.

The cables he posted, 48GB/S cables, are compatible with modern consoles, next gen 8x content, 4k/120 full bandwidth, so if you have a newish tv/game console/receiver/4k/120 source,, you're much better off with the better cables.

While inexpensive, these will be obsolete rather quickly.

No way. That is why you see so many people complaining that eARC doesn't work, or there is 4k tearing. If you were to use these cables on a 4k 120hz setup, they would simply not work.

They really should have implemented color coding HDMI 2.1 cables so I can pick them out from the cable bin.
