If you have the Costco credit card, this warranty becomes 7 years
Yes, I just had Costco.com deliver the 65" A80J and love it!
Costco has it currently at $1999.
7 year warranty thru my Citi Costco card makes it a no brainer.

I agree with this. After having the a80J I can say that it's actually better for gaming overall than the C1 despite not having vrr. You get significantly better picture quality, near black performance, color accuracy, and low resolution game upscaling. With movies it just absolutely blows it out of the water.

The only reason you'd want to pick the LG over the Sony is if the one less HDMI 2.1 port is a deal breaker for you.
I can't agree, at least with the 65" version, I thought the C1 was way better with the exception of sub 4k/hdr content, because the a80j has a better upscaler. For 4k / Dolby Vision content overall for movies I think the C1 looks better. The 65 a80j has a matte screen, it makes it look more faded. The color and blacks look better on the C1 vs the a80j on the 65" versions at least to me. I compared them side by side and thought the a80j 65 looked more washed out, the matte screen reminded me of a dull monitor. As for gaming, the C1 is way, way better. FPS's I noticed the C1's input lag being faster big time, some games the a80j dims way more than the C1, and then there is VRR. Having a gaming PC hooked to my TV, VRR is huge.

If you are not in a rush, I would wait for Costco to drop the price to $1700 again. You will get a 5 year warranty or 7 with the Costco CC.

I'm pretty sure this was $1799 before. Being that new models are right around the corner no way I would pay more than the lower price it was before.
Same! I'm hoping for another drop to around $1500 before all the new 2022 A90K and A80K models hit the stores. I'm hoping my patience will pay off!

FYI,

Green toe will probably accept an offer of $2,700 no tax for the Sony 77" A80J. They accepted my offer of $2,700 for the LG 77" C1. Which makes this offer for me $2,500 + tax (my tax is 10%) ish. Better than the Amazon deal.

I was debating between the two TV for the longest time.
I got an offer for the lg g1 65in for 2050 on green toe. Offered 1900. Gonna hold out. I need a stand for this tv. i hate the big lg c1 stand. There is a 500 difference from the c1 to g1 but i really want that 5 year factory warrenty.

Just to let people know, the 65" version of this TV has a more matte screen than the 77" which has the glossy. I think the more matte screen makes things look more faded and not as good.

I ordered this back on black Friday and love it.
Pro tip: To save time and money, offer the delivery guys tip to mount the TV for you. You would have to put the brackets on the wall before hand. If something goes wrong, you can return the TV right then.

From my understanding but not in practical use, burn-in is unlikely with the new TV yet still possible. If you use proper viewing, it should be okay for many years.

I have a very bright room. TV will be used in this room both at day and night. Should I get an OLED (A80J/C1) or just get a Samsung QN85A or Sony X90J? Thanks in advance.
