Standalone VR item. Does not need a PC for you to play games on it. If you want PC VR streaming to the device, I do not know. You probably have to look up the spec needed for PC VR streaming.

Yes, I built my Ryzen 5 CPU, desktop PC in 2017, has an Nvidia GTX-970 with 4gb video ram and 16gb system RAM , I am able to use OQ2 and play Half Life Alyx without issues. Your laptop sounds much newer and should handle it just fine.

Remember unlike other VR headsets, there is a ton the Oculus can do without a PC at all. Almost like a gaming console that leads a double life.... Actually that is what it does. Library of games on Oculus, PLUS every game on PC !

No, the Quest app will discover the new headset and the apps will start loading.
01-26-2022 at 11:37 AM
As long as you sign in with same account used on the old headset, onto the new headset your library will be available to you. and if you did the recent updates on old headset, your game saves should be uploaded to cloud storage already too ! But if not, again as long as same account is logged in with on new headset, your library of paid games will be there for you.

pro this year (more expensive) , quest 3 2023 (probably during holiday season)

Honestly at this price point, this is a jumping in point. There is always a new device on the horizon. but they will be more expensive. $300 for a 128gb OQ2 is a great price, and even if you don't have PC capable of gaming from, there is a ton of excellent titles to play on just the headset alone.

Aftermarket strap, not an elite strap. Weird combo
samsung renewed ? is it a deal ? brand new during bf was 300+50$gc.
imo it depends on your use case. The games are relatively small; I have a 64GB model and haven't yet needed to delete anything to make room for more games. And if you're using the Quest with a PC, then storage is pretty much irrelevant.

So while this might be a superior overall value, that doesn't necessarily mean it's the better deal for you. If I was only planning to use it for PC and a few local Oculus games, I wouldn't hesitate to save $50 and stick with the 64GB Walmart model.

Ok deal maybe. New 128gb headset is 299, and the extras are worth about 50, so now it's worth 350. Getting it refurbished to save $100 is probably the best price you'll find for a while.

Walmart has been selling the refurbished 64gb model for $199.99 so in comparison this seems like a good value with a 90 day return window with Amazon. You are getting double the storage (128gb) plus a case for an additional $50.

It's a bit unclear, but it looks like it includes a elite strap which is great, but the case is like an aftermarket one

Exactly, seems like I missed the BF deals mentioned above... but this is definitely better than the Walmart deal.

Do I return the one I just bought the other day with the refurb at Walmart and buy this? Worth the hassle?

"certified by Samsung to work and look like new. They have been remanufactured with a brand new battery and come in brand-new Samsung packaging with brand-new original accessories"

Seems like Amazon may have just copied and pasted their renewed prompt with new batteries and forgot to change a few things.

Had my GF talk me out of spending $269(after tax) since I should use my Samsung Odyssey+ (she's better at putting it into perspective as a new one should be out in 2023)

It was $199 at WM refurb, but I am not sure if the extras here are worth $50? I'd probably still consider $199 and then decide if we need the extras or not...

Missed tons of deals during BF 2021. Should I just wait for a deal for the new set? For me, those accessories are nothing
