With a decent enclosure, will match the 2TB portable price from yesterday, LOL:

This 2TB drive is gotta be QLC:

QLC or TLC? I assume it's not MLC due to its low price...

nvm, it's QLC, which is the worst.

MLC > TLC > QLC (Basically, 2 layers, 3 layers and 4 layers)

so, this seems to have better read performance and TBW compared to the Intel 660p - any downsides to this WD? https://slickdeals.net/f/15587716-intel-660p-series-m-2-2tb-nvme-ssd-157-97

Main difference is speed. The Hynix is among the best Gen3 nvme drives you can buy. This is a budget nvme drive but still a good deal for 2TB. General users won't be able to tell the difference in most tasks. In gaming you might see a few seconds in loading.

I posted Kingston NV1 2TB for $154 and got TD. Not sure this is that much better? Neither one is fast nor gen4.

Is this good to put in a portable enclosure? How is the longevity of this? I've had*intel ssds last forever. samsungs are nice but too expensive. corsair has longevity issues.

I think kingston thumb drives and such always have issues and do not last.

*well whoever downvoted me, show me the quality difference of kingston vs WD?

What's your real question? (that you would ask when someone says "Yes, I have one of these in an older MacBook Pro") and "old MacBook Pro" is very generic.
