While I would love to pull the trigger on this laptop, I was scared away from ordering directly from HP.com by the OMEN 17 debacle a week or so back. Not so much that it didn't ship as that they enforce the restocking fee. I am particular about my copies of electronics. For example, badly uneven light bleed from backlit keyboards drive me crazy and the ability to not return without penalty is a non starter for me.
EDIT: They can't even get the photos right for this item.

In laptop 5000 series U Processors, say 5X00U is the model number, if X is a odd number, it is based on Zen 2 (Desktop 4000 series), like Ryzen 7 5700u, Ryzen 5 5500u and if X is an even number, like Ryzen 7 5800u, Ryzen 5 5600u, that is based on Zen 3, same as Desktop 5000 series.
Upcoming Ryzen 6000 series is based on a Zen 3+ architecture which is a modest iteration over existing Zen 3 and based on even an more power efficient 6nm node and there is no desktop version for it. Desktop will be having Zen 4 directly and will be launching 2nd half of this year.
