You need to upload copy of their SSN card and another form of ID at the end for verification.

I don't have an account with them.

Proud of my 15 yr old. We set up a Youth account for her. She started vinyl collecting about two years ago and has been buying and selling vinyls as a job while her friends have been working weekends and evenings. I consider myself the VC since I do most her buying and let her keep her full sale for now. She right now has about $5,000 dollars in a year doing it. We set up a family LLC to bring the sales through and have been using RelayFi for the business account and then I pay her for her sales to the Fidelity account. The next step is for her to learn to buy stocks in companies she uses so she can learn about investing with the money. I try not to have her worry about the money in the account since I want her to get a good foundation. Still amazed on how she found a vinyl being sold for $300 and turned around and sold it for a $1000. I make her justify each purchase with numbers so she can look at what her profit is.

Has anyone tried to open one for a child under 13? Wondering if it would work for a 12 year old or it is strictly for ages 13-17.

Not necessary to invest. It gets deposited into a checking account. You can withdraw as cash if needed.

if you want accounts for kids under 13, I am thinking you can just open a different Fidelity brokerage account from your main one (and get a the $100 offer) and throw some cash or shares in there.

you can do the same with bank accounts, that have savings goals, just name the savings goal after the kid, and say it's their bank account.
