You need to upload copy of their SSN card and another form of ID at the end for verification.
"To open and monitor your teen's account, you'll need to open one for yourself first."
I don't have an account with them.

Finding the youth account routing and account numbers is left as an exercise for the reader. With this hint: The account number you seek does not start with the letter Z.
Can you or someone just tell us how to get the account number (ours does start with Z when I saved it) and the routing # for these accounts?

Transferring money is a bit annoying here. Writing a check is the easiest way so far, and that's not fun.

updated: just ask the virtual assistant on your Fidelity account for your account and routing number and it will tell you. The "Z" account is indeed valid, but they gave you an alternative one if the sender doesn't accept it.

We were able to set up the Fidelity Youth Acct. for my son with little hassle and he received the $50 bonus within a week. He has already spent it with his debit card! We were looking for an option that would let him have a little freedom with his own money and debit card and this appears to work well.

I'm gonna do this for our 14-yo son. I thought about getting him an account back when they were offering $100 bonus accounts for anyone but it didn't have all the youth benefits.

I've had a Fidelity account for a long time, ever since getting their 2% rebate credit card. I like Fidelity a lot and if it weren't so much hassle, would move my Vanguard money over because I greatly prefer the Fidelity website and account reporting interface.
Moving over from another brokerage is not too difficult. I've done it a couple of times and if you work with a Fidelity rep, they'll handle everything for you.

For what it is worth, my experience was such that they did NOT pay the $50 reward, after I opened a youth account for my 16 y.o. I even called Fidelity support, and they basically told me to F off when I did not want to fund the account. It does not say anywhere that you have to actually fund the account to get the $50 bonus, which is why I did it. So... false advertising if you ask me.

Are there any good accounts out there for a 2 and 5 year old?
Suggest a 529 plan. With recent legislation, after 15 yrs the funds can be rolled over to a Roth IRA (tax free!).

There are some tax benefits to using your state's 529 plan but if your state tax burden is fairly low, I'd suggest NEST 529. They have some of the best investment options of any 529 plan out there.

Big caveat being that you might lose all your account history/activity, if that's important to you.

For some reason I assumed I would be able to log into my TDA (now Schwab) account after I moved to Fidelity, but nay.

If you want to log in after moving, you have to call them and ask them to open it up temporarily.

So you tried to take advantage of the offer with no intent to fund, and are upset because your scam didn't work?

Why even make it optional? My 11 yr old has had one (savings acct) for 7 years now... he knows that for Christmas and birthday money he spends half and saves half. He's got over 2k at this point and knows he can't touch it till he starts driving... even then it'll be emergency need only. Though we did give him alot of the money we got for him from stimulus money. His 4 year old sister is doing the same thing. Need to move them into money markets or something but I'm not overly worried about it.
