Code won't apply because the kayak is not $100, it is $99.98. Add the $19.98 paddle (https://slickdeals.net/f/15588907-dicks-paddles-lifetime-youth-eco-sport-elite-kayak-paddle-in-yellow-183-cm-19-98?v=1) and now you have $119.96 and can use the coupon. Now you have a kayak and paddle for $99.96.

Or, you can just buy a candy bar or something else cheap. But, $99.96 for a kayak and paddle is ridiculous.

Good luck!

OK ... have to ask ... how true is the weight limit on these?

I am around the 260 mark (hoping to shave that down, but let's be realistic). I think I want to go for the sit-in since it has a storage compartment and I like the idea of my legs being shaded, but the limit on it says 250.

The sit-on is 275 but has no storage. I can live with my legs being exposed, that's just a preference.

I have three of the 10' Lifetime Tritons (Dick's Kuna). Bought them in the summer of 2020.

Paddled 200+ miles on mine, so far. It's been in the ocean, rivers, creeks, etc... and has held up fantastic.

There are several scupper holes, with two under the seat, and it drains great, especially if in the ocean - no more sitting in a pool of water or having to constantly drain it.

The only thing I've done to it is replace the crappy foam seat bottom (easily ripped) with a thick foam $5 Walmart stadium seat bottom and tied it off to the seat back clamp.

BTW... I'm 185#, and my girlfriend is about 115#, so 300# total. Just for giggles, we both jumped in one and paddled around the lake for about an hour. It easily handled the 300#

Dicks puts their attitude right in the name.

Dropped the price on a crossbow that I bought, after I bought it but before it shipped.

"No problem, we'll price match that of course"

and they never did. My credit card company finally gave me back the difference after about 15 phone calls and chats with Dicks customer service and my CC company. Took a couple of months in total.

Funny, seems credit card companies aren't very interested in fraud these days either. Someone used one of my cards, and I even found and identified the person. Discover was like "Meh, we can try to keep them from charging it again".

And just like that, a 22 year Discover card holder decided to give that right back to them.

This by the way was AFTER I changed the card number and had the card "frozen", "Well, that looked like a subscription fee, and we always let those through".

Does anyone remember them saying THAT on their tv ads? "You can freeze your card to stop unauthorized purchases!"

At your weight in these short kayaks, your paddling experience will not be fun. Sit on will be less stable (tippy) due to guys carrying most weight upper body (shoulders especially) vs the sit in. You will be pushing down the kayak further into the water and plowing through the water with little to no glide and paddling harder. Go test paddle a 12' (or ideally a 13'-15' sit on or sit in and you will see/fell a huge difference in performance. Lots of good/excellent used kayaks to be found on Craigs, especially in the colder areas of US.

Well, that was somewhat helpful. I guess it says this might be what I am looking for on an extremely tight budget.

Paddling harder is probably what I need to lose a few of these pounds. Smilie Not looking for some competitive fancy long distance crossing the ocean kayak. Just something that I can tootle around in on the local lake or reservoir, so I'm not concerned about a little extra work.

If you can point me to a 12', 13', or 15' at this price point without some theoretical Craigs listing ... Sorry, I know these comments are well-intended, but they are often irksome to newbs like me. If you had just bought the Cadillac with the front mounted machine guns and rear smokescreen ... Smilie

By all means buy it and try to enjoy it. Fact is it's going to be a poor paddling experience for you. Been in the sport (and a bit of competition) for 30+ years and just trying to point out these kayaks shortcomings. Lot's of new people join paddle groups I'm in and within a month or two, have a new kayak because they made a wrong purchase for their needs. Since you are new and not sure at this point if you even like the sport, buy it. You should be able to sell it if you decide your tired of it. One 10 minute paddle on a 12-14' kayak vs this one will quickly show you the big difference. Now get a paddle and pfd and do practice re-entry in deep water so you don't go into panic mode when you flip, and you will flip at some point. We all do.

Anyone know of any good deals on life jackets now? I need some youth life jackets and a couple adult life jackets.

Glad you got it and thank you for providing the update. I posted in prior comments about asking CS to generate a new code for you if it doesn't take. I had the same issue purchasing online and CS generated a new code for my cart. Coupon worked in the store no problem either.
