Better by far, but the TCL Androids bombed. Deals all over for TCL Androids. ROKU is a must. Replaced all my Samsings, LGs and others with 100% TCL. Happy.

Wow... just read the previous answers.
The correct answer is... what models are you comparing. They both make very good and bad TV's.

Only if you have problems. Had a three year warranty once and TV made it 3 years and one month!

The series number is TCL's tier of TV; it generally gets better the higher the number. They have 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8 series, and XL series. The full model number of the TV will indicate the series and year. Check rtings.com on the model number to see definitively, in this case https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/tcl/4-series-s434-android-2020 - As many have pointed out, rtings is not always 100% accurate, and/or the be-all-end-all, but I think it's a pretty good starting point for your research. Good luck!

Depends how close you sit. The rule of thumb is to sit at least 1.5 times the diagonal tv sized to have a clear view, and doing 1.5 distance you see minimal differences between 1080 to 2k and 4k.

We have android and Roku. We replaced android with a Roku box. The software changes on streaming devices faster than you will want to change out tv's (that's my experience at least). Android in the tv slowed so much over 2 years a $25 Roku box was a massive upgrade. Also, Roku has a better selection of channels imo.

Looks like BB is going to keep playing the game of bouncing TVs up and down from "regular" price to the same "sale" price every other week. I guess it's not reasonable to expect any breakthrough sales in this climate.
A bit more expensive, but I'm hoping quality will make up for that.I never had a "Google TV" before.Does anyone know if its capable of playing apps like Tubi, Pluto, and Plex?
Nice. Is TCL strictly Android now or do they still do Roku TV? I'd jump on this for a Roku, but not sure I want to start over on another ecosystem. Any thoughts from people with both? We've been Roku people since Gen 1, 2008.
I have a 65" TCL with Android TV and the sound delay is absolutely unbearable. No matter what I try PCM, pass-through, etc, it can't sync through my Sonos system. It is also an extremely laggy interface to the point I went with another streaming box. I couldn't recommend a TCL based on my experience.
