You can use that $5 in store to buy eShop $5 gift certificate (printed on a receipt) or $5 Xbox gift card. (There is no $5 Playstation option but you could buy a higher value and pay the difference.)

Earlier this month, corporate changed it to prevent this, but due to backlash, they changed it back.

My $5 code is gone too for January. I was looking earlier today but didn't end up using it now I guess I missed out.

It's gone. Replaced by the February one. I redeemed my January one a few hours ago, and it was still there as I stood in the store. Funny thing is that it said it expired on the 30th. Lucikly it still worked though

Was having issues processing the order before I realized you need to be above the $5 for the checkout to work. must have missed that when I was reading the post.

Ditto this. I thought I'd missed out because they replaced the Active Offer with February's at 11pm, but then I checked my email, and there it was, from January 1.

I am also curious about this. I received my February $5 coupon, but really don't want to go to the store if the coupons are no longer valid on digital currency.

Getting $5 currency every month was a major reason I subscribed to Power Up Pro. If they stick with this new policy, I definitely won't be renewing.

I've been getting Xbox digital currency for the last few months except for the beginning of January snafu where they temporarily changed the policy but it's back in effect again

I just used my $5 coupon in store for a $5 xbox code today. It is working fine.


EDIT : Also, FYI Gamestop allows you to use the $5 coupon online for digital currency. Not sure how long this is gonna last. So just as an example for xbox, you can use the $5 coupon in-store for a code. Then double dip the coupon online for a $10 xbox code for $5 (since you do need a balance to checkout online). At the end of the day, you can get $15 xbox credit for $5 out of pocket. Great stuff especially if you have gamestop trade credit.

Ok, I signed for Pro on 1/29. I never got a $5 off coupon for January. I still don't see a $5 off coupon for February. So odd.
