Is Arena 61C better than the Sonance MAG6 posted last week? Installed it last week, however it seems pretty weak.

I have the 61 and 81 in my house, neither would be considered "weak". I don't know much about the Sonance speakers, I would check your receiver.

The 61c speakers are strong enough to provide sound to my back yard from a Florida room with little effort. On high volume, I can hear the music while mowing.

Correction, my 61 series are 6ICDT.

My neighbor plays children's music at that volume. Unfortunately, I don't want to hear children's music.

Your comment is well received though. The receiver settings can be a little tricky because you are trying to balance audio volumes from multiple speakers and potentially different brands. Hopefully you'll be able to fine tune exceptable volume levels.

Would these be a good fit for a media room?

This is the receiver I have. It's super easy to program zones from one area to another, different speakers, etc. I paid I think $899 for it. I have a 5.1.4 atmos setup in my living area and a 2 channel outdoor setup. The atmos Height speakers also work as a separate zone that provides sound for the kitchen area without being too over powered.

Maybe your receiver is the issue?

How do these compare to Polk VT60 [polkaudio.com]? TIA. Got them from Costco for $160/pair.

Yes. They'd work well for that.

Ideally you want the woofers and tweeters in your other speakers to be of similar construction so that the speakers all sound similar and surround fading would be seamless.

Would these be okay in a covered patio? I need 4 for a media room, 4 for other rooms in the house, then 2 for our covered patio (in Dallas texas so it does get humid). Or would I want to do 8 of these for indoors, and something else for the outer 2?

Also anyone know if one amp would cover these speakers plus the 7.1 in the media room or if I would need a second amp?
