Given that the competitor Ring raises monthly fees recently , the Simplisafe might be worth considering.

If I already have simplisafe can I get this just for the attachments? Or is there a cheaper way to do that?

The keypad and camera alone are approx. $170 by themselves if you buy them individually (and the keypad is not available from either site you posted). I'm seriously considering the buying this kit just for the parts and not use the base station, IF that is possible, hence the previous question. So can we use this just for parts?

I was going to buy this and then I saw this video. Does anyone know if they have fixed this issue? Thanks

Not being able to shut off from app without paying them $24.99 amonth is a deal breaker, waiting for Ring to go on sale.

I pay the base fee of $15 a month and can shut off from the app. I think they added that feature some time in the last year. No live camera feed though, which is OK for me since I have IP cameras set up through an NAS

Sensors are not great. I have glass sensor, motion sensor, door sensors, water sensors and CO2.
Recently someone threw a brick thru my store window, glass breakage sensor didn't register it.
I also have a roomba, it constantly triggers motion sensor that's at 8 ft height on the wall. I had to stop using Roomba. Door sensor starts reporting that door is open when it's very cold outside. The only thing that actually worked was water sensor which got triggered when tenants upstairs flooded the store...

Yes you can use just for parts. I added this system to mine and kept the base as a spare.

You can also call them and they will apply the 3 free months from the deal to your account t also.

My store had this for $97.77. I bought the last one. Took it home. Realized it was not what I wanted. Now I can't decide to return it or sell it on EBay.

These DIY alarms seem great until there is a issue. Pay the extra cost and get a professional alarm through a professional installer.

They changed that about 6 months ago. Even the FREE no monitoring plan gives you smartphone control.

I went with a Ring system for my mom's place because it better integrates with her other Alexa devices. Both systems are great and have different pluses and minuses. If you have sensors really far away, Ring has an extender that helps with signal strength.

Interesting. Was the the previous generation glass break sensor that looks like a motion detector or the current gen where the front is shaped like a cone with a pinhole in the middle?

Also, I've had a robot vacuum and Simplisafe for 8 years (previous and now current gen) and it's never triggered a motion sensor. The instructions say to mount it upside down if you have small pets, which we do, so maybe that's the difference.
