Listed at $59 now

- Merlot (red) is available there for $49.97 rn

I would've likely pulled the trigger for the other color, Ash or Blue lol

Yes, you're right. Ash is now $59 and Merlot is now $49.97. I updated the original post accordingly. Thanks for posting and reps to you for your help. Smilie

I'm reading reading reviews on Amazon claiming that the ceramic coated pots are made in China not in USA and that the coating does not last long.

I have a lodge that's been going strong for 10 years. I'd buy another if I needed it.

Time will tell on how well it holds up, but I bought one of these back in December when they had them on sale for $50 and have used it once since for chili. So far so good and initial impressions are positive. Cleaned up super easy and no staining or any issues. Definitely feel like I have to baby it based on some of the reviews I've read, though. I'd have loved to get a Le Creuset or Staub, but just can't bring myself to spend the money.

EDIT: It also shipped with some rubber pieces that clip on the rim of the pot and I'm pretty sure the instructions said to keep and use them when storing the dutch oven as well. I assume to help prevent the enamel on the outside of the lid and rim from banging together and chipping off.

Oh, you have to be careful with usage and not using any metal utensils. Nor should you stack inside each other without a towel or something to protect. Kind of like the old and maybe even the new T-Fall pans.

What many, including myself would prefer, is a colored enamel outside and original cast inside. Some of the colors are quite attractive... until you change your kitchen color scheme. Smilie

What's the difference between this 6.5 quart Lodge dutch oven from Walmart and the 6 quart Lodge dutch oven sold everywhere else? (including on amazon) There's gotta be a difference, right?

EDIT: actually, it looks like even Walmart sells the 6 quart version for like $20 more. So there's obviously a difference between the 6 quart version and the 6.5 quart version, but what *is* that difference? Anyone know?

I got this and it's not much bigger than the 5.5 quart that I also bought at Walmart. I thought it would be huge, but it's not. Debated returning it, but the color's not bad so I kept it for a backup. Not that impressed with the Walmart Lodge's though. My red 5.5 quart has chips even though I hand wash it every time. It does a really good job of braising though in the oven. It does stain, but barkeeper's friend has always cleaned it right up.

I realize that but it's not marked as such.
