I too have an Ace Store nearby and they have shorter lines. But I always end up shopping at HD because I think their prices are 10-15% lower. But if Ace price matches I will save on gas from not driving to HD.

But to be fair, Home Depot employees also do the same around here and asks me why I didn't just go to lowes if I knew it was cheaper there. It makes a lot sense.

When I worked there we gladly price matched because in our area, it would likely earn a customer that would purchase other items at regular price or they would stop by when they were trying to finish a project and HD only sold them half of what they needed.
